01

Plan backward from the boss

Start with the boss and rest sites, then compare paths by the number and timing of elites, shops and unknown rooms.

  • Enter the boss with a damage or defense plan for its defining mechanic.
  • A late rest site protects an aggressive elite route.
  • A shop is strongest when you arrive with enough gold for removal or a relic.
02

Take elites when power is ready

Elite relics compound through the run, but an elite that costs all potions and most health can erase that advantage.

  • Check current front-loaded damage before choosing an early elite.
  • Use potions to cross a power threshold, not to protect a perfect inventory.
  • Choose a fallback path when the opening rewards are weak.
03

Adapt each act

Early rooms establish the deck, middle acts test scaling and the final act tests whether the plan is complete.

  • Take immediate damage early before over-investing in scaling.
  • Seek card removal when the engine already works.
  • Avoid unnecessary risks once the deck has a reliable boss solution.
