Plan backward from the boss
Start with the boss and rest sites, then compare paths by the number and timing of elites, shops and unknown rooms.
- Enter the boss with a damage or defense plan for its defining mechanic.
- A late rest site protects an aggressive elite route.
- A shop is strongest when you arrive with enough gold for removal or a relic.
Take elites when power is ready
Elite relics compound through the run, but an elite that costs all potions and most health can erase that advantage.
- Check current front-loaded damage before choosing an early elite.
- Use potions to cross a power threshold, not to protect a perfect inventory.
- Choose a fallback path when the opening rewards are weak.
Adapt each act
Early rooms establish the deck, middle acts test scaling and the final act tests whether the plan is complete.
- Take immediate damage early before over-investing in scaling.
- Seek card removal when the engine already works.
- Avoid unnecessary risks once the deck has a reliable boss solution.
